What is the difference between Bolefloor and Curv8?
Bolefloor is tailor-made for each project. Once we receive the floor plan, the design process starts. A designer works together with our special algorithm to create a floor design which retains the original shape of the raw board as much as possible. The result is a nature friendly and one of a kind flooring. Bolefloor is available in a selection of wood types, quality grades and as engineered as well as solid flooring. An engineered Bolefloor is 17 mm thick with a 5 mm top layer, the thickness of a solid Bolefloor is 20 mm. For more information, visit the Bolefloor product page or contact our sales team.
Curv8 is not custom made. It is a modular product containing 8 different curved boards and covering an area of 2.8 m2. Learn more about the modular Curv8 in the FAQ section below or visit the Curv8 product page.
-
How complicated is it to install a curved floor?
From the technical side, the curved hardwood floor does not differ much from any straight hardwood floor, the only exception being the shape. Together with the order, we provide you with the installation plan where all boards have been marked with a row and sequence number. The corresponding numbers are marked on individual stickers below the boards. All the projects and the boards used are saved in our database which means that should the need occur we can easily replace a damaged board. All we need to know is the number of the board.
-
How do I order?
For a quotation we need:
– Flooring plan in DWG / CAD (preferably) or PDF format or plain room measurements
– Wood type and grade (i.e. Oak Natural)
– Finishing (color of oil, i.e. Pedja)Once the quote and drawing are confirmed, you will get a prepayment invoice (50% of the final sum). After receiving the initial payment, the production starts and once it is ready, we send out the invoice for the remaining 50%. After receiving the final payment, your order is shipped.
-
What are the available wood types?
Bolefloor is available in Oak (Select, Natural, Rustic), Ash (Select, Natural) and Walnut Natural. By special order, Bolefloor is also available in Cherry Natural and Thermo Ash Natural.
-
What is the difference between EU and US colors?
For indoor floors we have developed two different color ranges. The EU finishes are made using UV oils whereas the US finishes use polyurethane. The US color options are only available for Curv8. Bolefloor and Varvage are only available with EU color options or as unfinished.
-
What is the lead time?
Generally, the lead time for a custom designed Bolefloor is six weeks. However, every project is different. For the most accurate lead time, please contact our sales team. Direct contacts are available here.
-
Where do you deliver?
We deliver our products all over the world. The orders are shipped in custom-made damage-proof pallets to ensure the product does not get damaged in transit.
-
Can I buy Bolefloor unfinished?
Yes, Bolefloor as well as Curv8 and Varvage are available unfinished. Unfinished flooring should be lightly sanded with 150 grit paper after installation for better oil or lacquer performance.
-
Can I use Bolefloor on floor heating?
All our engineered floors are suitable for using on water based floor heating systems. The engineered floors are not warranted for using on electric floor heating systems.
-
How to install Bolefloor?
All of our floors are connected using the tongue and groove method. The factory recommendation is to install the floor glued down. However, Bole floors have been and can be installed in different ways. Without knowing the climate conditions, building manners, materials, humidity and temperature in the premises, we strongly recommend to consult with your local building engineers and installers to find the most suitable option for installation, ensuring that you will have a beautiful flooring for many decades ahead.
-
How to maintain the floor?
Following the installation, the flooring should be finished with a top coat. The longevity and durability of your hardwood floors can be preserved with routine cleaning and proper maintenance. When routine cleaning no longer restores the floor’s shine, it’s time to recoat the surface. The necessary frequency for recoating the surface depends on the volume of foot traffic on the floor. As we use Osmo oils for finishing, we also recommend Osmo maintenance products.
-
What if a board gets damaged and needs to be replaced?
All the projects and the boards used are saved in our database which means that should the need occur we can easily replace a damaged board. All we need to know is the number of the board.
-
What is the wastage?
Wastage is a term that refers to the cut or otherwise discarded sections of flooring that do not belong in the floored space and which cannot be reused. We typically set the wastage figure between 5% and 15% (less for Bolefloor and more for Curv8). Nearly all flooring installation requires cutting.
However, wastage can be avoided completely if you use a laser system to get the most accurate measurements of your floor.
-
Can I use Bolefloor outside?
Bolefloor is not suitable for exterior surfaces. For outdoor use we have developed the LiveEdge custom-made Boledeck. Learn more about Boledeck in the FAQ section below or visit the Boledeck product page.
-
Do you make straight flooring?

Varvage creates possibilities for an endless array of interior design solutions, allowing you to take a turn off the curves without making sacrifices in originality. -
What are the available wood types?
Boledeck is available in Robinia. Robinia is a hardwood highly valued for its durability and rot-resistance, which is why it is becoming more and more popular in outdoor construction. Its naturally antibacterial and antifungal properties protect the wood from parasites while its density gives the boards sturdiness. Visit Boledeck product page to learn more about the LiveEdge custom-designed deck.
-
What is the lead time?
Generally, the lead time for a custom designed Boledeck is 6-8 weeks depending on the size of the order. However, every project is different. For the most accurate answer, please contact our sales team. Direct contacts are available here.
-
Where do you deliver?
We deliver our products all over the world. The orders are shipped in custom-made damage-proof pallets to ensure the product does not get damaged in transit.
-
Can I buy Boledeck unfinished?
By default, we do not offer Boledeck unfinished because Robinia is very sensitive to UV. For special requests, please contact our sales team. Direct contacts are available here.
-
How to install Boledeck?
Boledeck boards will be designed according to a pre-measured area plan with the addition of joist position indication. The boards’ end joints will be designed to match joist positions, however a 400 mm (16’’) joist center-to-center step is suggested. A plan provided with merchandise will ensure a simplified installation. For better performance, screw-down installation is strongly recommended together with our sub-construction to assure better durability of your beautiful Boledeck. Hidden fasteners are available on request.
-
What is a screw-down installation?
We strongly recommend to install your deck by screwing directly through the board. This is the most secure way of fastening the deck; however, the screws will be visible. The short ends of the boards are connected with an S-connection, allowing for less screws per connection. If so desired, the short ends of the boards can also be designed with a straight connection.
-
What is a hidden clip installation?
With a hidden clip installation, the screws will not be visible. We have developed our own hidden fasteners for installing Boledeck. You do not need any special tools for installing. Please contact our sales team for more information. Direct contacts are available here.
-
How durable is your decking?
Our LiveEdge Boledeck is produced from Robinia. Robinia is a hardwood highly valued for its durability and rot-resistance, which is why it is becoming more and more popular in outdoor construction. Its naturally antibacterial and antifungal properties protect the wood from parasites while its density gives the boards sturdiness. However, it is good to bear in mind that wood is a natural material and it can be affected by various external factors.
-
Can Boledeck be used inside?
Decking material is by no means designed for indoors. We recommend to use Bolefloor, Varvage or Curv8 indoors.

About 70% of the order is supplied in lengths longer than 2000 mm (78.7’’). Visit the Varvage product page to learn more.

Varvage and Bolefloor combined make for a budget-friendly yet unique design solution. You can combine curved and straight floorboards in the same project if you find the curved design to be overwhelming in every room.
